First of all, this is NOT a fake product as stated by some reviews. I spoke to PHD themselves and they confirmed the batch number on my tub as being genuine and that there is no need for inner seal on this particular protein. If you’re unsure, send them an image of the batch number on the tub.
I’ve tried numerous protein shakes and the only ones that actually work with my body are PHD Synergy ISO-7 and Reflex One Stop Xtreme – I recommend people test different brands as all our bodies are different and react differently to different shakes.
I generally use Xtreme for bulking but at the moment I’m using PHD Synergy for adding lean mass and cutting the fat, and I have to say it works very well, especially when stacked with Test Matrix. I’m nearly 40 so any help with maintaining testosterone levels is handy. I can see a difference almost daily, especially with my current heavy lifting 10 week routine. The fat is dropping off with this stack and I’m building some good muscle. Of course a good diet is also essential otherwise it’s a waste of money.
I bought the vanilla version as you can’t go wrong for an offer price at just under £20 at time of purchase. However, the taste isn’t great and the thickness of the shake seems to vary from tub to tub. My last tub with 300ml of water was easy to drink, this tub also with 300ml of water is much thicker and harder to drink down. It’s by no means disgusting, but there needs to be more consistency.

Mine was sealed. No issues or worries with legitimacy – a lot of the ratings are really related to the seller rather than the product.
Review of the product itself:
Good:
+ Cheap. 2kg @ £20 and if it has all that in there that’s a great deal.
+ Flavour, I had double choc, it’s not too bad tasting just a lot thicker than your usual whey.
+ It’s two servings to get what they quote, I just have one a day. No need to do the full serving.
Bad
+ Doesn’t mix that well with water. Have to use more water than other products and try to tactically not get it stuck at the bottom.
+ THE LID of the product is a pain to get back on. Small thing but it’s a big issue.
Yes I have ordered again. Value for money is very high.

Good value for money. Taste is good and not too sweet (I ordered Vanilla Creme) considering the product also contains Creatine which has an unpalatably bitter-chemical taste when taken on it’s own (i.e. as powder not capluse). However, this product didn’t work for me as it gave me severe digestive problems (stomach bloating, gas, diarrhoea) much more so than other products (e.g. Phd Pharma Whey which uses a higher percentage of Isolate). So, for those with low lactose tolerance this should be considered. Phd Pharma Whey or Phd Whey Isolate might be better, albeit slightly pricier, options.

This product has made such a difference in my muscle mass! I had been training hard, kept an eye on my diet, results were showing, but nothing impressive. OH MY GOD! One month of using this after my training and the muscles came popping in. Has become the only supplement I’ve been using for the past 6 months and results are beyond any expectations I’ve had! Nice, milkshake-y texture that fills you up for a few hours here. Highly recommend!

I had ordered phd synergy strawberry multiple times from this source and other sources in the past. In my recent order the powder density, smell and taste is different from previous purchases. Although there was a plastic seal around the lid, there was no seal inside which all previous tubs had. Feels like a fake or defected product. Avoid!

15/06/20 (originally gave this a 2 star rating)
Tub itself came without the sealed foil lid which usually seals the neck of tub after the main lid is unscrewed open. Real shame as I have been using PhD for years and never had an issue.
Perhaps it’s a psychological thing now or maybe because for years I’ve always used Banana flavour and with this order I switched to Double Chocolate, but flavour isn’t all that great or that tasty.
Great value for money assuming it is a genuine product. Otherwise who knows what is actually in this tub. I will try and quote some numbers from tub and contact PhD to see if they can verify it’s authenticity, for now I do not trust this listing.
EDIT /UPDATE – 18/06/20 (now giving it 4 stars):
I’ve been in contact directly with PhD who after being quoted the batch number and expiry date of my tub, have confirmed this was originally supplied from PhD themselves so this is a genuine product.
They also confirmed that not all of their tubs will come with both the outer transparent tear lid seal and inner neck foil seal but all their tubs will have either one or the other.
The powder looks fine and no different to previous purchases, in conjunction with PhD’s response, I’m happy to use this product 🙂

This is my go to post workout shake, it’s got all the supplements premixed into it so it’s super handy. It is a bit more expensive than mixing creatine etc separately, but you’re paying for the convenience (remember there’s not that many servings in a tub). It’s higher in calories than your pure whey shakes but this is required to build muscle mass.
Chocolate mint tastes like an after eight and is really easy to drink, it can be a bit thick and hard to mix but make sure you put enough water, and the water in first.

When I opened the package I found that the lid was not on properly and a lot of the powder was in the bottom of the packaging also there was not a foil seal under the lid.
