What is Gentle Iron Complex?
Formulated with iron bisglycinate for maximum absorption and digestive comfort this gentle iron complex is the perfect tonic for restoring energy if your levels are low. It has added copper and vitamin B2 which are both needed for iron metabolism in the body, and natural vitamin C from acerola fruit which helps iron absorption in the gut. Low iron levels can be due to low levels in the diet, like being vegetarian or vegan, or because the body has increased need for example during pregnancy. Pre-menopausal women often have a greater need for iron as it is lost during the monthly cycle. More iron is lost if periods are heavy, which in turn can lead to further depletion, leaving you feeling tired. Iron is needed for red blood cells to be able to deliver oxygen to your cells, as well as a healthy immune system and brain function. If your skin is pale, you feel more tired than normal or breathless after light exercise you may be low in iron.

Why is ours better?
Formulated with well tolerated iron bisglycinate (iron chelate). The iron is bound to amino acids making it well absorbed and gentle on the gut, unlike the sulphate form for example which can cause side-effects such as constipation. This form of iron is less likely to be blocked by other nutrients like calcium, or elements of the diet like tea or wholegrains which can impede absorption.
