What Does Blackcurrant Do?
Jarrow Formulas Blackcurrant Freeze-Dried Extract contains powerful antioxidants (polyphenols) for reducing eye fatigue and discomfort, providing antioxidant protection and promoting vasodilation.
New Zealand Blackcurrant (Cassis) (Ribes nigrum L.) contains 4 times more polyphenols, including the unique eye protectors delphinidin-3-rutinoside and cyanidin-3-rutinoside, than European Blackcurrant and is freeze-dried to better protect its phytochemicals.
New Zealand Blackcurrant is free of pesticides and grows in an unpolluted area with intense sunlight, which makes it naturally high in phenolic antioxidants.

Expensive but worth it.
Drizzle on natural yoghurt, fruit salad, as a jus glaze on cheesecakes, with a spoon of honey as hot drink or just sip on its own.
Delightful. Far superior to Ribena. No additives or sweeteners.
I was worried I’d never finish before its 21 day refrigerated shelf life once open. No chance! Half bottle devoured within a week!

This makes the most wonderful jellies. I make it up with water and gelatin and Stevia and pour over mixed frozen berries which gives a superbly healthy desert which is just so tasty and sets in no time. Cream or vanilla ice cream make it less healthy but even more delicious!

I bought it to put in lager, as allergic to black currant cordial additives .It was ok for the purpose. It is very expensive product. It lasted the weekend. I only had about 10 cans of lager with the product added.

Bought this as it is Organic and NOT too sweet and sugary unlike a lot of other cordials.
I find it refreshing as a lunch time drink instead of plain water and it’s flavour does NOT dominate the food contents of my lunch.

We use this product as a replacement for one we used to buy in Belgium, we cannot get that product in the U.K.
we find that this Juice is much less sour than the product we used to buy In Belgium.
It’s also quite expensive in comparison with our previous product, we are glad we can get an alternative but also a little concerned about its sweetness considering that blackcurrants are naturally so sour.

Nice to drink on its own, very intense flavour. I add a little to a glass of fizzy water, it is absolutely delicious.
I wanted to drink daily a juice such as this and now I have found it. I had read that blackcurrants contain Anthocyanins which help relax artery walls and help with heart health. Most juices are not the pure concentrate, they are diluted, mixed with others, or based on concentrate and have additives and added sugar. This product claims to be produced from cold pressed blackcurrants, and pasteurised and is not diluted and has no additives , no added sugar. If this is correct it is excellent.Lasts 21 days after opening and kept in fridge. I love it and will continue to purchase.

I’ve been craving ribena, which I used to love as a child, but it contains nasty additives so I searched for an organic, cold pressed blackcurrant drink and found this. I’m delighted with it. Some reviewers said theirs was past the sell by date but mine doesn’t go over it for a year and it tastes very fresh!
The taste is exactly as I remember my grandmas blackcurrants from her garden when I was little and there are so many health benefits, including for the eyes, which I’m having trouble with. So I’ll be buying this regularly from now on. I think it’s worth the price because it’s so delicious and heathy. The only problem is that I’m not sure it’ll last very long I love it so much!

I used to love Ribena as a child but no longer eat sugar and dislike artificial sweeteners. This pure juice is absolutely delicious. Blackcurrants are one of the healthiest fruits you can eat, far more than blueberries. I drink this neat and unsweetened, but of course you could dilute and add honey if required.
This would also be fabulous added to yogurt or ice cream.
Highly recommended.
